What is the difference between IP Rating and NEMA Rating?
2021-11-08
Smarts manufacture mostly NEMA-4X, IP20, IP67 led power supplies, so how to choose when buying these drivers? First, we need to know the difference between the rating.

An IP (Ingress Protection) rating, which was established by the International Electromechanical Commission (IEC), a worldwide organization for standardization, is mainly used by European buyers to specify the extent of protection an electrical enclosure has against environmental conditions. The rating consists of the letters IP by two digits, the higher the number the better the protection. So that is why you can hear the sales person say to you that the IP20 LED power supply is for indoor use, while IP67 LED power supply can for indoor and outdoor use.
