Constant voltage LED driver are designed for a single direct current (DC) output voltage. Most common constant voltage drivers (or LED Power Supplies) are 12Vdc or 24Vdc. It is ideal for paralleled LED lighting arrays because they generally have a resistor in built to control the current, therefore a constant voltage led driver would be required to convert the AC power to the required DC voltage.

Constant voltage led drivers will always maintain a constant voltage no matter what kind of current load is put on it. An example of a constant voltage power supply is below, SMT-012-060VW (output: 12V @5A 60W) will maintain a constant 12VDC if the current stays below the 5amp. Most often, constant voltage drivers are implemented in under-cabinet lights and other LED flex strip applications but it is not limited to those categories.

Smarts Power’s constant voltage led driver are available in output power options from 6W to 300W, IP67 & IP20 can be suitable for applications such as architectural lighting, task lighting, medical lighting, transportation lighting, lit signage, safety and security lighting and outdoor lighting.
